A fantastic Cruise...!

My husband and I wanted to take a week off with his mom, who is now 85, somewhere not too hot, not too far... a kind of trip she would not get too tired from and still be able to enjoy new places. So we opted for a “Cruise”.

Having decided a bit last minute, we could not be too picky with the destination. Initially we had thought of the Baltic Sea or the Norwegian Fjords, but they were fully booked. We found some spots left on a London-Lisbon cruise with Crystal, a luxury company with a medium sized boat (1500 people, plus the crew), Crystal Serenity... and booked. I was happy since I had never been to Lisbon, and my mother-in-law had not yet been to any of our Cruise ports. One of our stops was the lovely Bordeaux, and this beautiful town was new for everyone as well. At the very last minute, my mom also joined... it was a great idea to mix our families altogether.

The best thing about a cruise, as I found out, is to see multiple places while being able to completely relax once you’re aboard. All meals can be planned and booked in advance, and each city can be explored individually without the hassle of “packing” and “unpacking” every few days. Service is fantastic, the food on this particular cruise was outstanding, and the views breathtaking.

Shoes to pack:
2 higher heels for the evening dinners: I took one sandal and one pump (both 85-90mm heels)
1 flat leather sole sandal
1-2 flip flops or jellies
1-2 sneakers (city walks or gym)
